Birmingham Bass Club opened the 2008 season on a cold Windy,cloudy &#38; over cast day on Lake Jordan. With 13 boats &#38; 26 people.&#160;We had several limits weighed,with good weights .The fishing was much better than the weather,&#160; as was the turn out. Great start to a new season!!!

            A special thanks to Alabama Power for leaving the water level high enough for us to have our tournament Saturday at Neely Henry. Birmingham Bass Club had 7 boats compete for the total boat weight prize while 5 of those boats competed against Blount County Bassmasters in Club versus Club competition.

<description><![CDATA[By far the tightest battle for Angler of the Year in club history!&#160; It came down to the final event, but Chris Wiemar and J.D. Dickerson actually tied for first place with 230 points out of a possible 240 points.&#160; Scott Holmes finished 2nd with 229 points and Bobby McDonald was 3rd with 228 points.&#160; Two points separated four anglers for the title!

With the AOY race in a dead heat, Chris Wiemar edged out Bruce Sargent for the win and clinched a joint AOY title with JD Dickerson. Chris weighed in 10.81 pounds, barely topping Bruce's 10.79 pounds JD's effort weighed 10.11 which placed him third in the tournament and in a tie for first place for angler of the year. Bobby McDonald broke his winning streak at 2, but managed 4th place in the event with 9.36. Rounding out the top 5 was Dave Johnson with 9.29 pounds.

    The BBC Wildcat Open was another brutaly cold event.  Despite the weather and   tough conditions, we had a great turn out with 16 boats, and raised money   towards our Spring Two day event.
      Team Roberson had a 5.64 kicker largehead   to blow by the field with a total of 12.67 pounds. Team Bright came in second   place with 8.64 pounds.  
    Many nice spotted bass were also weighed including   a couple of cookie cutter 3 1/2 pounders weighed in by Team Brown]]></description>
