Dear Mr. TD,
I see the plan is to launch at McFarland Park. Would we consider putting in at the other end of the lake? Just thought it might shake things up since most of us have probably not fished that end as much.
If not, what about allowing us to trailer to another launch if we choose to do so? And could that include Wilson as well as Pickwick?
Food for thought...

I'M 100% IN FAVOR OF EITHER OF THESE TWO IDEAS. I THINK IT'S UNREASONABLE TO GO TO A LAKE THIS UNFAMILIAR (TO MOST OF THE CLUB) AND RANDOMLY CHOOSE A LOCATION SO LOPSIDEDLY NEAR ONE END OR THE OTHER. WHEN ASKED ABOUT THE CHOICE ON GUNTERSVILLE OF THE STATE PARK THERE WAS MUCH SAID AND POSTED ABOUT THE "MIDDLE OF THE LAKE" WHAT HAPPENDED TO THAT MENTALITY HERE ? THIS IS IN MISSISSIPPI ! THERE ARE CLOSER AND MORE BOATER FRIENDLY LAUNCHES NEAR THE UPRIVER END. BESIDES MOST OF OUR CLUB WILL WANT TO FISH THE GRASS AND THE GRASS IS 25 MILES FROM MCFARLAND. THIS IS SIMPLY AN UNINTENTIAL MISTAKE- WE DONT NEED TO FORCE OUR MEMBERS TO BURN 50-75 GALLONS OF FUEL JUST TO RACE UP AND DOWN THE LAKE. |

Natchez Trace Bridge is as close to half way as you can get. BUT we would need to stay at Tuscumbia instead of Florence. |

Our TD/TC should make a decision on this in case anyone wants to go up and look around in the next few months. Hint hint Abear! |

What was posted as a launch was posted a long ago. Let it be. If you wanted to challenge it, you should nave done so long ago. You have time to save your $$ for fuel costs. If your boat is not capable of making a long run in ROUGH water, stimulate the economy and buy a new one |

How far is it to the bridge by land from Florence? Is there any good ramps near the bridge? |

By land from Florence is a good 35 to 40 minutes. From Tuscumbia, McFarland and Natchez are about equal distances. |

Just to keep it up...
Where do we trailer to? If we weigh at McFarland, you are taking a gamble on traffic making it back to the weigh in on time, or you have to get off the lake an hour or more early.
Remember, this will be November. Stiff Northwest wind makes life hard on that pond. |

Rumor has it we won't trailer to Wilson. I hear Abear is "open minded" to trailering on Pickwick. I'm with CBJ, we have done it before so what's the beef? I know we did it on Eufaula when Bruce was TD. I would have no problem staying "middle of the lake" area if we can find rooms.
Another question I have is will we need a Mississippi license if we fish below the NT bridge? |

When we trailerd at Eufaula, Bruce told us what time we could start fishing so we could actually be on the water at our first spot at the designated time.
As far as the trip back to the designated weigh-in area is no problem with me. You just figure it into your fishing day. |
