I THINKS IT'S THE RIGHT THING TO DO -- IT FOLLOWS THE LETTER OF THE EXISTING RULES COVERING "ONE ROD ONE LURE"
BUT THAT'S ME PERSONALLY --- AS FOR THE CLUB I FEEL WE SHOULD HAVE NO DISCUSSION ON THIS UNTILL THE FEDERATION BANS IT AS WE FOLLOW ALL THE RULES SET FORTH BY THE FEDERATION !
NO ONE HAD ANY QUESTIONS LAST YEAR SO WE SHOULD HAVE NONE THIS YEAR . THE RULES COMMITTIE FOR BASS ONLY IMPOSED THIS ON THE ELITES AS THEY FEEL THEY SHOULD BE HELD TO A HIGHER STANDARD THAN THE "IDIOT RIG " |

"The Alabama Rig" Well you don't have to use it, but it shouldn't be banned. I have tried it and I works, but I would suggest you be real familier with the area! if not it can get expensive.
I make my own and will offer them to members for $10. You have no idea unless you have used one how hard a fish will hit. Just my 10 cents. |

i dont know if i've seen it stated any better ! randy is a grass fisherman -absolute ! frogs and a punch'n rod, and a damn good one. i feel the same. i feel that we may not be just leveling the field but actually lowering the bar ? we're bringing the bottom of the field, in a lot of events ,into play where they dont belong due to lakc of skill or lack of experience. we 're
taking away any edge gained by an angler over the course of years of tournament competition.
now the "anglers to watch" in any tournament could be all the guys in the hunt(throwing the a-rig ) even if they're not the best anglers.
*** on a different note , lets just consider for a moment the guntersville blight of yankee anglers flocking in the spring to catch and fillet any and all bass they catch to return up north with hundreds of pounds of potential sushi and bass nuggetts ? they did enough damage when they had to catch them one at a time with a ratltlebait ! now they can catch them 2 to 3 at a time ?? there are issues about this thing that are associated with competition and also issues associated with conservation and impact on the resource. we need more information and we need it quick !
let's all keep and open mind and make some educated decisions for the good of the sport and the good of the future of the sport !! |

Well Said John,.... However unless the State of Alabama makes a rule change on this issue, the run on Guntersville (and other State lakes) By out of state as well as in state fishermen using the A rig could have a huge impact on the fishery in the state as a whole.... |
